Acne is a nightmare for women, especially teenagers. Having an acne prone skin not only increases the risk of some other skin infections and problems, but also leads to a lot of mental stress. And the reason is obvious – nobody is happy and confident with an acne-filled face, and some even develop serious inferiority complex because of it.
These days, there are plenty of cosmetic and skin care products available in the market, ranging from face washes to creams, lotions, sunscreens, face packs, scrubs etc. that promise to fight acne and give a fairer and glowing skin alongside. However, what most people fail to realize is that acne is best dealt with naturally, and not with chemical based products that can prove to be extremely harmful to one’s skin. The worst part is that majority of people don’t even know what chemical compositions suit their skin type, and blindly follow TV commercials to use certain products. This increases the risk of permanent damage to skin, which may include rashes, marks, scars etc.
So then what exactly should one do?
Good Skin Care Habits First; Everything Else Later
The simplest way to get rid of acne is to follow good skin care habits. It is extremely important to keep one’s face clean at all times by washing it regularly. One does not need to use soap or a cleanser all the time; two times a day is enough. Rest of the times, just washing the face with water does wonders. So make sure that you wash your face at least 5-6 times a day. At night, make sure you get rid of all the make-up before sleeping with a mild cleanser. A good alternative is to wipe off the make-up using baby oil.Scrubbing the face regularly is also important, as it helps the clogged pores to get cleansed. Of course, regular moisturizing too needs to be done so that the skin does not get too dry.
Watch The Diet
Your skin clearly reflects what you eat. If you eat a lot of oily and junk food, acne is bound to happen. Therefore, it is very important to regularly eat fresh fruits and vegetables that help the body to get detoxified, and get rid of all the waste.Drinking around 12-15 glasses of water each day is also very important for those who want to get rid of acne. Alcohol consumption should be reduced. It often messes up the digestive cycle of the body, which causes accumulation of waste. And this leads to serious acne breakout.
Keep It Simple
Too much of experimentation with make-up, excessive amounts of chemical treatments, and too many facial products cause severe damage to one’s skin, leading to acne. Therefore, it is best to switch to natural or herbal-based skin care products, and avoid chemical treatments in salons.
Also remember that physical and mental stress can contribute to the skin looking dull, and can cause acne. Thus, a good night’s sleep is very important along with good lifestyle and proper skin care habits.
