Medically referred to as Acne vulgaris or Cystic acne, acne is a skin disease common in all areas of the world. Aloe Vera is one of the most common and popular home remedies for stopping acne breakouts. Like Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera gel has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. Apart from combating acne and its breakout, Aloe Vera is also very effective in restoring damaged skin and treating burns. Baking soda is another effective home remedy for treating and stopping breakouts of acne. Making a paste of the soda and applying the same to affected areas of the skin combats acne within days, in addition to offering protection against further attacks.

Garlic is a very powerful home remedy for treating acne. It is particularly effective in treating acne scars. Garlic is both anti-fungal and anti-bacterial and will naturally fight acne organisms causing inflammation on the skin. The use of Apple Cider Vinegar in treating acne has become very popular, considering the fact that it is one of the most readily available home remedy for acne. Another very common product that some people have used in combating acne is toothpaste. Toothpaste contains sodium monofluorophosphate, which is very active against acne.

In addition to the above mentioned home remedies for stopping acne breakouts, other healthy practices effective in preventing the occurrence of acne are also available. Performing regular exercises unblocks hair follicles, in effect preventing acne occurrence. Getting enough sleep is another sure way of preventing acne. More importantly, sticking to a healthy diet is very effective in preventing acne.
