Flat Belly Diet – Tips to Get a Flat Stomach Instead of a Bloating One

Abdominal bloating not only looks bad on you. It certainly makes you feel physically uncomfortable most of the time. Do not however confuse this kind of abdominal bloating with bloating that occurs because of medical conditions such as liver and heart diseases. Most abdominal bloating is caused by gas and not water or weight as you may think. Having a temporary abdominal bloating is something that you can work on and achieve a flat belly, which is every woman’s (and men too) craze at the moment.

Although it is true that abdominal bloating can be addressed by sticking to a flat belly diet, it is important to point out that there is no such thing as ‘flat belly diet’. Sticking to a flat belly diet means you completely stop consuming certain foods. This does not need to be the case. You simply need to pay close attention to the amount of particular foods and drinks you consume. To fight your abdominal bloating condition, ensure that your usual diet contains the following:

Low Fiber Diet

A low-fiber diet has the potential of increasing your bloating condition. Ensure that your daily diet contains whole grains, vegetables, fruits and legumes.

Number of meals

Bloating occurs particularly after heavy meals. For this reason, you may need to consider spreading your meals; instead of three heavy meals in a day, have small meals several times in a day. This way, you will eliminate the bloating feeling associated with heavy meals. You may need to prepare a daily meal plan to achieve your goal.

Anti-bloating foods and drinks

Processed foods tend to have high sodium content while low on fiber. This has the potential of encouraging bloating. Try as much as possible to reduce sodium intake.

Achieving a flat belly is not a hard task so long as you understand the kind of foods and drinks that contribute to the occurrence of abdominal bloating. What is important is however not to eliminate the foods but consume them in small quantities while ensuring that you consume those that fight the condition in great quantities.
