Recipe – Classic Beef Stir Fry

Ingredients:

Beef tenderloin or Beef sirloin – 1(1/2) pound

Baby bok choy (minced) – 5 heads

Onion (chopped) – 1 medium sized

Ginger rhizome (finely sliced) – 1(1/2) inches

Garlic (peeled and minced) – 2 cloves

Carrots (thinly sliced) – 2 small

Broccoli (diced) – 1(1/2) cups

Frozen peas – (1/3)rd cup

Cayenne pepper – A dash

Orange bell pepper (sliced) – (1/2) piece

Green bell pepper (sliced) – (1/2) piece

Red bell pepper (sliced) – (1/2) piece

Yellow bell pepper (sliced) – (1/2) piece

Cracked black pepper – (1/2) teaspoon

Cornstarch – 4 teaspoons

Chinese five spice powder – 1(1/2) teaspoons

Bamboo shoots (sliced) – 2 teaspoons

Celery (chopped) – 2 stalks

Scallions (chopped) – 2 pieces

Olive oil or vegetable oil – 2 tablespoons

Toasted sesame oil – 3 teaspoons

Beef broth – 1 can

Oyster sauce – 3 tablespoons

Dark soy sauce – 1(1/2) tablespoons

Dry sherry – (1/2) cup

Sugar – (1/2) teaspoon

Salt – 2 teaspoons

Water

Preparation:

Beef stir fry is indeed an easy and tasty dish if you know the proper recipe of it. At the beginning, keep the beef tenderloin or beef sirloin in the refrigerator. After 6 to 7 minutes, just take it out and make thin slices. Now, take a large skillet and pour (3/4)th of olive oil or vegetable oil into it. After the oil is heated up, put the chopped onions in it and sauté them for at least 1 to 2 minutes keeping the flame medium. When the onions get tender as well as translucent, add the minced baby bok choy, sliced bamboo shoots, chopped orange bell pepper, chopped green bell pepper, chopped red bell pepper, chopped yellow bell pepper, chopped celery, and frozen peas to them one by one. Spice up all the ingredients with a pinch of salt and cracked black pepper. Also, put the peeled and minced garlic cloves as well as finely sliced ginger rhizome in the skillet. Keep the heat medium high and stir fry all the vegetables.

After 5 to 6 minutes, take 4 to 5 cups of water in another vessel and place it on another oven to boil. Once it is boiled, add the diced broccoli and the thinly sliced carrots to it. Let them boil for 2 to 3 minutes at least and drain out the excess water by taking the vessel out of the oven. Now, add the thinly sliced beef tenderloin or beef sirloin to the stir fried vegetables and season them with a dash of cayenne pepper. Also, pour the rest of the olive oil or vegetable oil and the dry sherry into the whole content of the skillet and stir fry till the liquid gets evaporated and the juiciness of the mixture disappears.

Take a little bowl now and put oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, and toasted sesame oil in it one after another. Mix them well so that the sugar gets dissolved completely. Then, pour this mixture over the beef and vegetables content in the skillet and stir fry. After a minute, take a pot and dissolve the cornstarch in a little amount of beef broth. At the same time, pour the rest of the beef broth into the skillet. Simmer for 5 minutes and pour the dissolved cornstarch into it. Also, sprinkle some salt, cracked black pepper and Chinese five spice powder over the entire content and fry for last 2 to 3 minutes. Finally, place the hot and tasty beef stir fry on a serving platter and serve it with boiled broccoli, carrots and chopped scallions.
